Provisioning XenDesktop Desktop Targets and Catalog with PVS

Creating XenDesktop Catalog and Targets with PVSIn the previous post, the image has been created to provision new VMs. Now, we will use this image to stream new targets and create XenDesktop catalog and delivery groups.

First, we need to run the target in private mode and install VDA and customize the image according to end-user requirements and/or delivery groups.

Lets first install VDA which will also install the Receiver. Mount XenDesktop 7 iso to the target VM. The install self-explanatory:

Once done, change the vDisk mode into standard mode. Then start XenDesktop Setup Wizard:

After the wizard completes, you can checkout the Desktop Studio for a new catalog created. Then you can create delivery group to publish desktops to end users.

Hi, May I ask a question. My XenServer is v 6.2.0. XenDesktop is v 7.0 and Provisiong Server is v 7.0.
But When I open “XenDesktop Setup Winzard”.and Set the ip address of XenDesktop Controller. There have no any XenDesktop Host Resource can be select. Do you know this issue ?

    Couple of questions:
I assume your target device is joined to the domain prior to installing the VDA?
When your Win8 target boots in standard mode does it boot with the windows logo, spinning thing and it saying “Getting devices ready”?
